Our Origins
How It All Began
Gateway to Eternity Mission of Praise is a ministry born out of a simple, heartfelt desire to praise and honor God in every step of our journey.
The story of our mission began in July 1964, within the quiet walls of a living room. What started as a small, intimate group gathering for worship soon blossomed into a profound spiritual movement. Those early days were spent in deep prayer and simple worship, sharing the Word with a sincere desire to help others find the same joy in praising God that we found ourselves.
Over the decades, God has faithfully used this ministry to reach hearts across the community and beyond. What began in a family home has transformed into a global mission of praise, touching countless lives through digital sermons and local outreach. We continue to walk forward with that same light that was lit in 1964, committed to bringing the healing power of Christ to all who seek Him.

We are a friendly neighborhood church family in Thornton Heath, dedicated to supporting seniors, vulnerable people and their families. With a helping hand and a listening ear, we make sure no one walks alone and everyone can feel the warmth of God’s hope.

Gateway to Eternity Mission of Praise started in July 1964 as a humble gathering in our living room. From those early days spent in prayer, we felt called to help others express their own faith through worship. We are so thankful for how God has used this ministry to touch lives and offer hope over the years. What began as a small seed of faith has grown into a warm family reaching out to seniors and vulnerable neighbors in Thornton Heath.

Theme: The Ministry of Healing
“I am among you as one who serves.” Our Lord Jesus Christ came to this world as the unwearied servant of our needs. He “took our infirmities, and bore our sicknesses,” that He might minister to every need of humanity (Matthew 8:17).
The burden of disease, wretchedness and sin He came to remove. It was His mission to bring complete restoration—to give health, peace and a transformed character. None who came to Him went away unhealed. From Him flowed a stream of healing power, and in body, mind and soul people were made whole.
In this new age, we created Sermon Online—freely available on the Gateway to Eternity Mission website—for those who cannot easily worship inside a church building. If you haven’t visited yet, please explore the site and share it with anyone who might be blessed by it.
